Peter and Wendy returned from their week's holiday yesterday. Before returning home the four of us went with Harmen to see
Wall-E. I'd been wanting to see the movie for a while now, 'cause I found the main character to be uber-endearing. Luckily I wasn't disappointed :)
The movie is definitely of the Disney feel-good variety, with lots of great jokes thrown in for the grownups. Unfortunately the fact that this is a movie from the Disney stable means that a romantic OHNOZ! moment was required right before the end of the movie. That ending was the only thing about the movie that bothered me a bit. The rest was just great ^_^

BTW, I'm convinced that the guys at Pixar are big fans of the Valve game
Portal. This shines through in the evil auto-pilot which reminds me of GEDOS and in the short clip that precedes the movie. This short clip focuses on a magician, his rabbit and their two hats that function exactly like the portal guns from
Portal.

I've been in college for over half a year now and I'm about 3/4s through the first year. I've been enjoying the heck out of school and I'm glad I decided to make the step to getting a second college degree. Just think, in less than two years I'll be teaching math to a bunch of teenagers ^_^
In the meantime I'm going to make the best out of my studies. I'm not claiming their easy by a long shot, as I've spent many a night studying until midnight. X_x The encouragement of my friends and family helps a lot though and I'm really happy that they're keeping me motivated :)
So... That's almost three semesters down and one to go. Why don't we take a look at the score so far?
Statistics 1 - Didactics = 80%

Well hot damn! It seems I'm doing pretty well! I also expect to get between 70% and 80% on the three courses that still need to be scored, so that's good news too.
Now, next semester we're up for Geometry 1 (didactics and math) and History of Math 2. Sounds like a fun semester!

Christmas with the family (Kilala.nl (Cailin Coilleach)) by Cailin Coilleach
Yesterday we celebrated Christmas Eve with my family. Everyone who wasn't stuck in a foreign place (Finland, the US) was there, so we had a nice little gathering :)
Dinner was great, as always, and of course I overate. The salmon starters were alright, but (like every year) the ham was awesome. Apparently my dad had some Finnish minister bring over a Christmas ham from Finland, just in time for Christmas. Awesome stuff and it's a shame that I couldn't bring any with me. I mean: it'd spoil on the way to Japan ;_; By the end of the night I was falling over with both sleep and stomach cramps :D Ah, you gotta love the holidays.
It was very nice to be together with the whole family again. :) I would've posted a picture, if my camera and SD reader weren't packed already :p
